CCN Online Academy

Our dedicated Learning Management Platform (LMS) ensures learners can receive the best in interactive learning, in-depth sessions and assessment – wherever and whenever they choose to participate. Powered by Moodle, this open-source LMS helps educators and scholars create online courses and focuses on interaction and the collaborative construction of content, which further enhances learning and support.

Why the CCN Online Academy was created 

Responding to a need to combine real-world applied learning with global accessibility, the CCN Online Academy was created to do just that. By providing online, mobile-friendly courses designed by practitioners and academic experts (from CCN partners), learners can be sure that online courses are both academically-robust and practically relevant. These online courses also build upon the great work of the Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Cooling and Cold-chain (ACES) in Rwanda and its network of SPOKEs across Africa and India – whose other courses help so many. 

Case studies and problem-based learning activities place learners in situations they will face on the ground and embed Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), ensuring opportunities are accessible to women, youth, and under-represented groups. The range of materials used through online learning keeps it fun and aims to build confidence and competence in the course topics.
