Academy FAQ
Your Clean Cooling Academy questions answered
Where can I find more out information about a course?
We’re always happy to help. Simply contact us at [email protected] and we’ll share your questions with the right team.
How can I find out if a course is right for me?
On each course page, you’ll find a ‘Who Should Apply’ section, that details who the course is aimed at. If you’re not sure if this relates to you, and/or you’re interested in the course material, then you can either:
- Apply, and explain how you feel you could benefit from the course
- Share your interest with [email protected], and explain your situation
We’re all passionate about cold-chain and clean cooling at the Clean Cooling Network, so if you are too - even if you’re not the intended applicant, we may be able to provide a space.
How do I apply for a course?
At the bottom of each course page, there is a section called: ‘How To Apply’. This details the required information, which may include a CV and some questions to answer, as well as where you should send this to.
When will I hear back on whether I’ve been accepted onto a course?
This varies, but we tend to provide shortlisted candidates with 1-2 weeks' notice for in-person courses, and a few days' notice for online courses. Each course page will specify the exact details.
What should I do if I’m not accepted onto a course?
If you aren’t accepted onto a course, please don’t be discouraged. We keep a list of all candidates and contact those not accepted when the next cohort is released.
Why do we need to collect information on gender?
In developing training programmes and job opportunities, we want to ensure that we always identify and consider unequal power relations and inequalities experienced by individuals because of their social identities, including gender. Access to cold-chains, resources and training is likely to have substantial impacts on gender equality and female empowerment, levelling the playing field for anyone interested in cold-chains, clean-cooling and making a livelihood from it.
For us, it’s all about inclusion. For example, women form the majority of Africa’s agricultural workforce, yet they are disproportionately excluded from value addition, training, and access to cold-chain infrastructure. Designing equitable, gender-responsive systems is essential to ensuring cold-chains deliver maximum social benefit.
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) is a key driving force of the Clean Cooling Network. We therefore aim to provide opportunities to all genders, supporting women where possible. We actively encourage women to apply for courses, jobs and events, and aim to ensure a significant proportion who take part are women too.
Please note: There is no obligation to state your gender if you do not wish to.
