The future at ACES:
Also featuring a quality, safety and postharvest management laboratory, as well as an environmental test chamber (scheduled for completion and operation by the end of 2025) and a demonstration Community Cooling Hub (operational by March 2026), this ACES campus ultimately aims to reduce food and vaccine loss, economically empower subsistence and smallholder farmers and their communities and mitigate the potential environmental impact of the cold-chain.
Training courses at this venue are operated by:

FAQs - ACES Training Programmes
Who can apply for the training?
Anyone eager to learn and grow professionally can apply to our various training courses. Some programmes may target specific groups however, such as Technicians and Health Practitioners, and therefore suitability will be considered.
How long can training take?
We have 3 categories of training duration:
- Short: From 1-5 days.
- Extensive: From 10 days to a month.
- Long: Lasts a year, such as our Train the Trainer programme.
We recommend considering training duration before applying to a course.
What do I need to bring to the training?
We encourage participants to bring a notebook, pens and identification documents. Some sessions may require a laptop or mobile device, and we’ll let you know in advance.
Do we get a certificate upon course completion?
Yes. Participants who successfully complete all modules and requirements receive a certificate of completion.
What are my chances of being selected?
Selection is competitive and based on eligibility criteria, and application quality. We review all applications carefully and strive to ensure equal opportunities for everyone.
Can I re-apply if I wasn’t selected before?
Yes, you can! We strongly encourage candidates who were not selected to review their applications and re-apply.
Is there a training fee?
Currently, thanks to generous funders, all training is free of charge.
Is travel and accommodation covered?
Currently, we are not sponsoring accommodation and travel to Kigali, Rwanda for training. However, where possible, we encourage individuals to reach out to the organisations they work for to see if they’re willing to sponsor participation in the training.
Are participants given a stipend?
For those on long-term training, some financial support may be offered. This is on a needs-basis, when applied for and when assessed and approved.
Will ACES/CCN help me find a new job or start a business?
While we don’t directly place participants in jobs, we provide mentorship, networking opportunities, and employability skills that increase your chances of employment.
