The Africa Centre of Excellence of Sustainable Cooling and Cold-Chain (ACES) launched the start of the third cohort of Train the Trainer, consisting of 20 participants from various backgrounds eager to acquire skills in inclusive and just cold-chain, and thereafter apply the skills learnt for socio-economic and environmental benefits in the food and health sector. Not only in Rwanda but also across Africa. 

Participants are equipped to become community mobilisers and work with farming communities, private and public sector to drive system changes required to establish cold-chain as critical infrastructure to meet Rwandan Government targets of improving access to healthier food to all, increasing exports, increasing climate resilience, and employment in the sector. 

The training depth encompasses an academic journey of 10 modules in cold-chain and its associated pillars including post-harvest management, food safety and quality control, refrigeration, renewable energy and most importantly business model applications. In addition, training rigour at ACES lays a foundations for professional development of trainees during or immediately after graduation. 

Training happens at ACES campus in Kigali at Rubirizi where state of art technology enables practical and hands-on training enabling participants to operating at high standards in industry, private organisations or starting their own business.
