Picture of the week: A field visit at Rwanda Medical Supply

An image of Helen Gizachew Wubishet and Rosa Admassu during a field visit at Rwanda Medical Supply (RMS) as part of the Cold Chain for Global Health course hosted at ACES. Both participants bring expertise from Ethiopia and Rwanda in emergency medicine, healthcare logistics, and health innovation, applying the course’s knowledge on temperature-sensitive products, vaccine storage, and supply chain optimisation. These portraits highlight their professional commitment and the spirit of pan-African collaboration in strengthening global health systems through cold chain solutions.
Roza Admassu (lady on the right) states:
"As an Ethiopian medical doctor and CEO of Ambucycle in Rwanda, I've always been at the frontline of emergency response, handling temperature-sensitive products like vaccines and blood as an end-user. Joining the Cold Chain for Global Health course has been transformative; it’s giving me the foundational knowledge to innovate in bio-sensitive products, transport pilots, and optimise supply chains. Coming from Ethiopia, this programme highlights the power of African collaboration in health. I feel empowered to apply these insights not just in healthcare but across sectors like food and horticulture, building sustainable business models that save lives."
To apply for the Cold Chain for Global Health course, please click here. Please apply before the 27th October 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by November 10th, 2025.
We also have the One Health day at the Festival of Cooling on the 7th October - focusing on health professionals, logisticians, facility managers, and system planners, who are closest to the consequences of cold-chain gaps but are rarely included in cooling conversations. This day will elevate their voices, equip them with knowledge, and connect them to innovators who are rethinking how healthcare and cold-chain systems can work in harmony. To take part, please register here.
