This week marks a major milestone for the Clean Cooling Academy with the launch of our first e-learning course starting on September 1st .

This new e-learning course, Essentials in Cold-Chain Systems, has been jointly developed by experts from CCN/ACES and the University of Birmingham, London South Bank, and Cranfield University. It equips participants with fundamental knowledge and competencies in clean cooling technologies and their applications across key sectors. The course, led by Dr Edward Hammond, Technical Expert on Cooling and the Cold-Chain, is designed in four sections each providing essentials in the context of an uninterrupted cold-chain system, technical concepts of cooling, products and cooling needs, and innovative business models and markets.

The course - hosted on the new Clean Cooling Online Learning platform - is self-paced and mobile-friendly. It is optimised for areas with limited connectivity and accessible for all. The course is interactive, including a mixture of pre-recorded videos, forum discussions, short presentations and case studies carefully chosen by the CCN experts and partner universities to reflect real-world scenarios. The course takes six hours to complete over a period of two weeks.

Who is it for?

The 6-hour course is offered to early career professionals, technicians, operators, policymakers, development practitioners, entrepreneurs, graduates with limited or without prior experience in cold-chain systems. It is suitable for newcomers to the field, and those looking to develop their learning journey into clean cold-chain

This e-learning course is a pre-requisite for our foundation courses and Train the Trainer program as part of the Clean Cooling Academy. It marks the first step in a continuous learning journey, supporting individual growth while building capacity across the clean cooling infrastructure and ecosystem.

This is the first milestone in our longer term development of online, accessible to all learning. We will be launching more online courses as our training pillars expand into a dynamic ecosystem for ca ontinuous learning journey, professional accreditation, and institutional strengthening.
