The Clean Cooling Network is delighted to welcome you to the ‘Sustainable Cooling and Cold-Chain for the Global South' conference, bringing together academics, industry leaders, NGOs, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to co-create solutions for sustainable cooling.
Below is a list of useful information to help you plan your visit to the UK.
The conference will be held at Edgbaston Park Hotel – the Fry Suite (Located on the University of Birmingham Campus)
Consider before you travel
- Temperature & weather - October in the UK will be cool (8-14 °C), rainy, with shorter daylight hours (sunset at 4.45). Pack warm layers, a waterproof jacket, and comfortable shoes. Birmingham - BBC Weather

- UK Currency - The currency used in the UK is GBP. Contactless payment is widely used; however, some Banks may charge for international payments.
Travel to Birmingham and the University
- Plane - Birmingham International Airport (BHX). Birmingham Airport has its own train Station which connects to Birmingham New Street Train Station located in the centre of the City.
- University Train Station: The university has its own train station, conveniently located near Birmingham New Street, with trains departing every 7 minutes.
- Taxi - Black Cabs are available from the Airport and the City Centre. Uber’s are available throughout the city.
- Bus - These travel often throughout the city and take contactless card payments. Buses in the West Midlands | Transport for West Midlands

Parking questions
Where can I park when I visit?
North East Car Park Multi Storey Floors 1-5 (access via Pritchatts Road) Sat Nav Postcode B15 2SA.
- The Ground Floor bays and parking directly outside the hotel is reserved exclusively for Hotel Guests only. (Free - enter your registration number in the tablet at reception).
- Please note that this car park does not have a lift.
- Chargeable Period is Monday - Sunday 08:00am - 18:00pm.
- This now includes weekends, Bank Holidays, and University closed days. Parking at the University of Birmingham is free of charge after 6.00pm.

- Lunch, tea, and coffee will be provided on both days of the conference.
