Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, and upkeep of all ACES infrastructure, including buildings, electrical systems, plumbing, and facility surroundings. The role demands practical knowledge, attention to detail, and responsiveness in managing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the buildings and infrastructure.
- Plan and prioritise daily repair tasks, reporting progress to the Maintenance Manager.
- Diagnose recurring issues and recommend effective improvements or preventive actions.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety and Engineering teams to ensure safe maintenance practices.
- Carry out minor electrical repairs and support general facility electrical upkeep.
- Support in planning facility upgrades or refurbishments where necessary.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests raised by departments or staff.
- Perform basic civil works, including walkways, drainage, cladding, and interior finishing.
- Work closely with the Facilities/Maintenance Unit to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.

- Monthly Maintenance Report summarizing inspections and actions taken
- Updated Facility Safety Checklist reviewed bi-weekly
- Maintenance Logbook documenting repairs, contractor interventions, and incidents
- Consistent improvement in functionality and safety of ACES facilities
- Reduced downtime and faster response to facility-related issues
Skills & Experience
Minimum Education: A2 Certificate in Construction Technology or equivalent vocational training in Building Services
Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and civil works
Technical Proficiency in:
Plumbing systems (supply, drainage, pools)
Electrical systems (wiring, distribution boards, lighting, diagnostics)
Civil construction techniques (formwork, concrete, finishing)
Basic carpentry, cladding, painting, and decorating
Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
