ACES to Welcome Young Learners for a Special STEM Visit on December 6th
The excitement from the Festival of Cooling 2025 edition is still spreading and this time, it’s bringing an entire class to ACES for a dedicated hands-on learning experience. Following the festival, many schools shared how their participation was such a monumental experience for their students and how they are eagerly awaiting the next Festival of Cooling, where they intend to bring a larger group of their students. One of the schools shared that their students had been so inspired by the interactive clean cooling demonstrations that they returned to their school eager to tell their peers everything they had seen, touched, built, and experimented with. Their enthusiasm was so infectious that it sparked a wave of curiosity among the classmates who hadn’t attended. This led the school to request another visit to ACES.
A STEM visit like no other
We are delighted to announce that on December 6th, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, ACES will host a group of more than 100 children for a special STEM Saturday experience. The visit will recreate many of the festival’s most loved hands-on activities such as LEGO refrigeration builds, cold-chain games, interactive demonstrations of solar-powered cooling, temperature-measurement, and many other refrigeration related activities. This time, the programme will go even further, offering short introductory talks that explain what cold-chains are, how they work, and why they are essential for food security, public health, and climate resilience, all tailored to the level of the students.
The school shared that the students who attended the Festival of Cooling were so inspired that they, "presented their experience to our entire community during our Monday Assembly" turning their excitement into a community-wide moment. Their peers were captivated, making them eager to experience it for themselves. For ACES, students are a productive ground for innovation, and we strongly believe in laying the foundation for future scientists, problem-solvers, and clean-cooling champions early. When one learner engages deeply, they not only share their knowledge with classmates but also carry these lessons home to their families and communities thus sparking awareness and inspiring change.
The impact of the Festival of Cooling on children
The ripple effect of the Festival of Cooling is also becoming clear. In recent days, ACES has also received new requests from other schools that did not participate in the festival, asking whether their students can visit the Centre for interactive, real-world learning on cold-chains, sustainability, and the science of clean cooling. These requests reflect a growing appetite for practical STEM engagement, and a strong recognition of the role that cold-chain literacy plays in shaping future innovators.
ACES is excited to support this growing momentum. As we continue strengthening our education and outreach programmes, we look forward to welcoming even more young learners, empowering them to explore the science that keeps vaccines safe, food fresh, and communities resilient.
